Confusion among various catalogues and atlases as to which of HR 8959, 8966 is Theta Phe. Delporte IAU (1930) adopts | HR 8959 position whereas Norton, BAA adopt position of HR 8966. Others designate the two components of HR 8966 as | Theta1 and Theta2. This identification is now most commonly accepted.
