Mitología

Nombrada en honor a la princesa Andromeda de la mitologia griega, que fue encadenada a una roca como sacrificio al monstruo marino Ceto. Fue rescatada por el heroe Perseo, quien convirtio al monstruo en piedra usando la cabeza de Medusa.

Objetos Destacados

Alberga la famosa Galaxia de Andromeda (M31), la galaxia principal mas cercana a la Via Lactea y visible a simple vista. Tambien contiene el cumulo abierto NGC 752 y la nebulosa planetaria NGC 7662 (Bola de Nieve Azul).
