Mythology
Introduced by Petrus Plancius in 1613, representing the camel that brought Rebecca to Isaac in the Bible. The name means giraffe in modern usage.
Observing Highlights
A large but faint circumpolar constellation. Contains the open cluster NGC 1502 and Kemble's Cascade, a beautiful chain of stars visible in binoculars.
