神話
ヘラクレスがヒュドラと戦っている最中に気をそらすためにヘラが送ったカニ。ヘラクレスに踏みつぶされたが、ヘラはその功績を称えて天に置いた。
観測の見どころ
プレセペ星団(M44)は双眼鏡で見る最も素晴らしい散開星団の一つ。M67は最も古い散開星団の一つ。春に最もよく見える黄道星座。
