Mythology

The Stern (or Poop Deck) of the great ship Argo Navis, which carried Jason and the Argonauts. The ship was divided into three constellations by Lacaille.

Observing Highlights

A rich Milky Way constellation with many open clusters including M46, M47, M93, NGC 2451, and NGC 2477. Excellent for binocular sweeping.
