Mythologie

La Poupe du grand navire Argo Navis, qui transporta Jason et les Argonautes. Le navire fut divisé en trois constellations par Lacaille.

Points Forts de l'Observation

Constellation riche de la Voie lactée avec de nombreux amas ouverts dont M46, M47, M93, NGC 2451 et NGC 2477. Excellente pour le balayage aux jumelles.
