Mythologie

Le plus grand héros de la mythologie grecque, connu pour ses douze travaux. Il fut placé dans le ciel par Zeus après sa mort. La constellation le représente agenouillé.

Points Forts de l'Observation

Contient M13, le grand amas d'Hercule — l'un des plus beaux amas globulaires du ciel boréal — et M92, un autre amas globulaire brillant. Abrite également l'amas de galaxies d'Hercule (Abell 2151).
