You start fast in the thin upper atmosphere: let drag bleed your speed, deploy the parachute (C) to brake hard, then cut it and fire the retro engine for the last few hundred metres. The NAV instrument shows direction to the landing zone (green), your motion vector (red), and the lateral thrust you're applying (amber); the chevron arrows fire the side thrusters.
